  • Yeah, iPad mini has the same resolution as the iPad2, so this method doesn't work for that. Not sure how to handle that case right now... Commented Dec 21, 2012 at 18:38

    You're not supposed to. You can check the device identifier for "iPad 2,5" buy also you need to check for 2,6 and 2,7 - the wifi only version, gsm and CDMA. But that means that the next iPad mini will be released and you'll need to update to hard code to those identifiers too which you can't know before hand. You can't continently know when you're on an iPad mini because really you shouldn't try to "optimise" for the smaller screen Commented Dec 22, 2012 at 13:36
