    You do not think the device blaring out sound when you visit the website is kind of a bad idea? Not to mention people might have their device on silent. No sound would stop this. Commented Nov 14, 2012 at 11:36

    As a slight modification to this: Play a stereo audio file where the right channel is an inverted version of the left channel. With a single speaker, they should cancel and not affect the accelerometer. But either way, relying on speakers + accelerometer is super unreliable. Commented Nov 14, 2012 at 13:11
