  • client1-allow.conf is probably the best route, as for you can update it on the fly. I don't know if services need to be bounced to pick up any chnages? Commented Dec 17, 2012 at 19:41

    The NginX service does not have to be restarted, but it must be instructed to reload its configuration on-the-fly via the command line or a suitable script. I use service nginx reload, which sends nginx the HUP signal via kill -HUP $pidfile. Commented Dec 17, 2012 at 19:53
