How to Tag

- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag

- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. python-3.x), up to a maximum of 35 characters

qsortis a C standard function and the specification for the comparison function even fits this comment: "The contents of the array are sorted into ascending order according to a comparison function pointed to by compar, which is called with two arguments that point to the objects being compared. The function shall return an integer less than, equal to, or greater than zero if the first argument is considered to be respectively less than, equal to, or greater than the second."
