    Instead of merge + rebase you could also do mege --squash. I've used it recently for the exactly same use case: create a new branch from develop, merge --squash the feature branch and give it a meaningful commit message. stackoverflow.com/a/5309051/4675841 Commented Mar 26, 2018 at 14:31
