    That's useless, though. Defining an static method on an interface does not enforce further definitions in classes which implements such interface. If you just remove the static method altogether from interface I, your code will compile and run anyway without problems. In other words, you are NOT overriding I interface's main method in InterDemo class, just creating a new method with the same signature. Commented Oct 26, 2018 at 13:48
