I only needed to hcange .gitconfig, then I could use the command git pushup which always pushes the current branch to the origin. I can always just use git pushup instead of git push 👍

just expanding on this answer to setup a global git alias (custom commands) - git config --global alias.pushup "!git push --set-upstream origin $(git symbolic-ref --short HEAD)"
