  • The amplitude of the 500Hz signal is 0.3 dB, the frequency spectrum graph shows a peak of roughly the same magnitude (probably off by a factor 2 because OP's normalization is off). The 0 Hz peak should be around 63.8 dB, it's again pretty close to twice that value. Commented Dec 16, 2019 at 16:17
  • I think that may come from the fact that OP is taking the Fourier of 20*log10(signal). To be sure, I would try to perform the fft on signal, then compare the result with 20*log10(signal). Commented Dec 16, 2019 at 16:44
