I'm implementing the service and repository layers in the MVC framework. Is it acceptable to call repository methods directly from the controller? For example, in the controller, I am already using a service class for other business logic. Is it acceptable to call the repository class directly just to get a count, or do I need to implement the service class and call it instead?
