Thank-you. The results are identical to the for-loop. Your solution is similar to Bago's which a tad cleaner for our needs.

@dbv and @jterrace. Have you guys checked to see if this works when there are repeats in list_vals_flat[toadd]? Unless I'm missing something this method might have a bug.
