This is a beautiful post, because it shows clearly and concisely just how lucky us modern-day biologists are. For him/her, python is the modular scripting language used to give some abstraction to module developers so that they don't need to parse the main C code. Now-a-days however, few Biologists will ever learn C, instead doing everything in Python. How do we abstract away the complexities our our main python programs when writing modules? In 10 years from now, perhaps programs will be written in Emoji and modules will just be audio files containing a series of grunts. And perhaps thats OK. Commented Feb 24, 2016 at 12:22
