I am new to Thymleaf - spring-boot combination application development . I followed tutorial and try to build step by step an app using spring boot application with Thymleaf. My app is up and running but it not display the value which i parsed (in controller) in to Model model using model.addAttribute("greet", "Hello there"); . In view I print it as <span th:text="${greet}"></span> .It only display the value (index) which i return in method as return "index"; . Value expected to print is Hello there.

You will need to annotate your GreetController class with @Controller rather than @Restcontroller if you want to return a template view. To understand these annotations, just search of them, there are a lot of answers like this Controller or RestController
