I just installed the 7/17/2001 beta, and found that while I had no personal page, TWiki thought I was already registered, so I couldn't add a personal page. Since I installed in a new directory (removing the oldest TWiki of 12/01/2000) and only copied the .htaccess and .htpasswd files over, i'm guessing that that's where TWiki got the idea that i'm already registered.

If one where to use one's linux master .htpasswd file (for instance, ignoring security issues), then while all users could edit, no user could have a personal page.

As usual:

TWikibeta 07172001 AS Perl build 626 Apache 1.3.20 Windows NT 4.0sp6

_Now with a 99% working Twiki!_

This is the current spec. TWiki assumes that TWiki is controlling the .htpasswd file. In case you reinstall TWiki you should migrate the user pages and the .htpasswd file, or remove the users you don't migrate from .htpasswd.
