I think we should consider the possibility of connecting TWiki to an sql database (mysql, postgres, ...)

Possible applications of databases:

• user and web preferences
• usernames/passwords
• relations among topics (dependences)
• access log and statistics
• knowledge bases

If possible this connection should be transparent: if the database is available, it is exploited, otherwise the usual mechanism is in place

Its being developed, although very slowly since I have other commitments that are really taking my time currently. So its pretty much only design discussion at present.
