The question was specifically about driving/reading the chip with the given hardware (ESP32). Also, signal quality was fine from an electronical POV, just the timing/sync of the generated and captured signals was problematic and I didn't solve it since. Thanks for the answer anyways, though it sounds a bit like crafted by ChatGPT :D
