  • Because the videos in question will (almost) always be destined for an automated system, which is designed to have specific-length videos. As stated, ideally the recording/producing system will be operated by only one person - the presenter in front of the camera. So automating as many things as possible - including stopping the record after the predefined time period - is required. Commented Apr 25, 2014 at 10:39
