After six years, we've decided to close the community on Live Journal due to issues with the service and declining participation over here. Please join us over on Dreamwidth. Basic accounts are free or you can use Open ID to comment. We'd love to see you over there.
The Words Count community completed its sixth year on April 28th! Congratulations to everyone who participated this year and a special thanks to oriolegirl without whom this comm would not be possible.
I went back through the Year 6 spreadsheet to change it to match the comm's current tracking method. This means that anyone who did not participate in a given week was removed from that week's totals and their goals did not count for that week.
Total number of unique participants: 31
Total combined goal: 1,434,441 Total words written: 1,746,528 Difference: +312,087
Beta: 15 Edited: 221 Cheered: 975 (Cheered is difficult to count. I did not track each comment but did track how many days an individual cheered over the year.)
Here are the totals for Year 6, Week 52 (April 22-28, 2013).
The community's combined goal for the week was 16,650 words and we beat that with a very nice 17,634. Way to go, writers!!!

These stats are from the Dreamwidth and LiveJournal communities combined. I usually compile the statistics for the prior week during the day on the following Tuesday and post them when I get home that Tuesday night. Anything posted for the week being totaled by midnight eastern on the following Monday will be in the totals. If you comment in the prior week during the day on Tuesday, there's no guarantee it will be included. Please let me know if I made any mistakes so I can fix them. I apologize for being late with this week's totals, but we had passes to see Iron Man 3 last night.

Members of the group also encourage each other and celebrate our accomplishments. Please see the general introductory post which has all the details.
