| I use AlmaLinux 10.0 KDE on my Dell Latitude 7490 notebook and I'm very satisfied. I haven't noticed any performance issue, haven't notices any software crash, the system is really fast, stabel and very custumisable. Kindly recommend to install flatpak, according to get the most popular software available. I tried Rocky Linux 10 also, which is also stabel, but the Alma Linux 10 have newer packages and system components installed. This is really personal recommendation, but I prefer KDE Plasma comparing to Gnome.

| This new release of Alma broke my system! I wanted to switch from CentOS to another supported distro since CentOS 8’s support is ending this year and the tool looked like it worked and transferred everything over from Alma, but it didn’t. I needed to reboot like any other Red Hat-derived server OS does for the changes to take effect and like anyone else, I wanted to make sure the system was updated to the latest version with bug fixes, patches, the usual stuff and the nightmare began. Errors updating applications, errors updating system files- kernel, etc., freezes of the system that forced me to shut down the computer by power button to be responsive again and general instability with this release. Maybe an enterprise type distro shouldn’t focus on rushing out another version just because it seems and actually work on fixing bugs, etc. I can’t daily say that the developers refuse to fix bugs, but how is a release from an enterprise distro so buggy and unstable? I do not recommend this distro, it’s better to find another enterprise distro- Red Hat based or not.

| Runs clean and performs well. This version (10.0) is still in the process of having its supplemental software added to the built-in Software Center, so some packages aren’t yet available through the graphical installer. As a result, I had to use a few terminal commands to locate and manually install certain applications I wanted. That said, the distro itself runs exceptionally smoothly and feels stable and responsive. System resource usage is efficient, updates are straightforward, and the overall user experience is polished and professional. Highly recommended. If you enjoy the reliability and structure of Fedora but appreciate the stability and long-term support model of Debian, AlmaLinux offers a great balance between the two. It’s a solid choice for users who want an enterprise-grade operating system that remains friendly enough for daily desktop or development use.
