It would be cool if the odds for each powerup to be awarded were randomized each game. Maybe before the game you roll 1-1000 for each powerup and create a range like the leaderboard you roll against when awarding one. The new weighted odds aren't disclosed, and the result is that each game will have a unique 'texture' as certain powerups become common/rare.

All that said, here's some new powerup ideas:

  • Smoke Bomb: For the next 5 seconds, devcroupier can only speak in asterisks.
  • Hyperinflation: Everyone has their current points multiplied by 100. We're all rich!
  • Robin Hood: The current leader has half their points distributed among the other players, starting with last place.
  • Confusion: For the next 10 seconds, powerups played have the effect of a randomly chosen powerup.
  • Trade-In: The next 3 powerups played have no effect. The player who played them gains a powerup.
  • We Don't Serve Your Kind Here: The first player to post the captcha text gains a free bet equal to the current blinds.
  • EMP: Cancel the current rule. If the rule was played by another player, add their point total to your own.
  • Booby Trap: The next powerup played has no effect. The player who played it loses half their points. This powerup can be played via PM with devcroupier.
  • Doppleganger: The next time you are targeted by Assassin, Popularity Contest, or Robin Hood, another player takes your place. Automatically played.

New powerup type: RULES. Rules are powerups that apply a persistent effect to the game. Rules remain in effect until they are canceled or replaced by another powerup, or the game ends. Only one rule can be in effect at any time, playing a new rule replaces the current rule.

  • Banhammer - RULE: Must be played in a message with one other powerup (which has no effect). While this rule is in play, the accompanying powerup has no effect when played.
  • Run It Twice - RULE: If the game ends while this rule is in play, two flips are performed and the pot is split evenly between the two winners.
  • Fog of War - RULE: While this rule is in play, devcroupier does not announce when powerups are awarded.
  • Cold War - RULE: While this is in play, Nuke powerups have the effect of the Freeze powerup instead.
