Nov 14, 2017 at 12:45 comment added snh_nl So the correct method is? <action method="setCacheLifetime"><s>null</s></action> and none of the other solutions?
Nov 10, 2015 at 9:43 comment added hakre I tried with editing this answer to a correction, but it was not possible, so I can only downvote it for "you can try" - answer or not. But you can try sounds harsh for a Q&A site. Especially as others have commented that the answer is wrong in part - and it would have been easy to correct it.

You have to call the method setCacheLifetime without any arguments to actually set it to null. Otherwise it would get the string value "null".

Apr 21, 2013 at 11:02 comment added Dmytro Zavalkin null = never cache, right. However, I'm not sure it is possible to argument value to null with <action> directive.
Apr 20, 2013 at 11:02 comment added benmarks I thought null = never cache and 0 = cache permanently?
Apr 20, 2013 at 5:49 comment added Ravi Soni hmm use of ajax could solve the problem. I will try this thanks for your help.
