$\begingroup$ Rest[] drops the first element, being complementary to First[]. Analogously, Most[] pairs nicely with Last[]... $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ On Delete[] vs. Drop[]: Delete[Range[5], 3] and Drop[Range[5], {3}] do the same thing, of course. $\endgroup$
