$\begingroup$ Could the V9 TetGenDelaunay be used instead of the V10 DelaunayMesh? (I'm not familiar with TetGenLink.) $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ @MichaelE2, yes, because V10 DelaunayMesh uses TetGenLink which is available since V8 $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ @zeckra Instead of dealing with geometric models how about defining problem as optimization task and fitting biggest blob or sphere? If I am not mistaken MichaelE2 has related nice solution for 2d circle. $\endgroup$
