- 3$\begingroup$ This is a very bizarre feature of M10. I encountered the same issue with Windows 8 and recalibrating the display color did the trick. $\endgroup$bobthechemist– bobthechemist2015-06-28 20:36:29 +00:00Commented Jun 28, 2015 at 20:36
- 1$\begingroup$ So, now we have to find out under which circumstances it happens (I have not encountered this yet). $\endgroup$Sjoerd C. de Vries– Sjoerd C. de Vries2015-06-28 20:39:18 +00:00Commented Jun 28, 2015 at 20:39
- 1$\begingroup$ ...and after using this solution, my Mathematica (10.0.2) suddenly needs extra time "Formatting Notebook Contents". A very bizarre bug indeed. $\endgroup$bobthechemist– bobthechemist2015-06-29 12:34:17 +00:00Commented Jun 29, 2015 at 12:34
- $\begingroup$ Are you sure it's related? Many people get this message (myself included) though we haven't changed this setting or suffer from the orange bug. $\endgroup$Sjoerd C. de Vries– Sjoerd C. de Vries2015-06-29 12:36:07 +00:00Commented Jun 29, 2015 at 12:36
- 1$\begingroup$ @bobthechemist without a doubt, Mathematica (even version 9, which takes a long time to start) has some odd problems with monitors on Windows 7 and 8. I managed to fix my laptop using the monitor driver replacement suggested elsewhere, but for my multiple-monitor desktop, it made no difference. The same problems are not observed on Windows 2003. Someone surely needs to have a serious look at what the FE is doing here. (Hoping for the best with 10.2!) Thanks to your comment, in the mean time, I will try uncalibrating my color and see if it helps. $\endgroup$Oleksandr R.– Oleksandr R.2015-06-30 00:38:45 +00:00Commented Jun 30, 2015 at 0:38

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. list-manipulation), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
