- 1A check? I'm talking about two moderators on two different sites coming to the same conclusion and then just mirroring that over the other sites. All the lookup stuff is already done (see network profile) and the actions could be carried out by the Community user on the other sites.Oli– Oli2013-07-20 09:24:32 +00:00Commented Jul 20, 2013 at 9:24
- 1I wonder, though, how many of these spammers have gone to the trouble of linking their accounts. If they have any brains at all (aside from the few brain cells that make them think spamming will make them successful), they'll know enough not to do that.Aaron Bertrand– Aaron Bertrand Staff2013-07-21 15:20:13 +00:00Commented Jul 21, 2013 at 15:20
- @AaronBertrand - given that SE automatically links accounts if you use the same credentials on different sites it's hard not to link your accounts.ChrisF– ChrisF Mod2013-07-22 08:26:08 +00:00Commented Jul 22, 2013 at 8:26
- Indeed, most spammers I've seen have had linked accounts with live spam posts on those sites. This is what this suggestion would fix.Oli– Oli2013-07-22 09:45:13 +00:00Commented Jul 22, 2013 at 9:45
- 5This is part of a much larger problem (network-wide handling of spam and abuse) that we're (slowly) working on solving.Shog9– Shog9 StaffMod2013-07-23 19:07:37 +00:00Commented Jul 23, 2013 at 19:07

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. stack-overflow), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
