- 6This would only encourage people to dump large segments of code. We want to encourage them to minimize it to just the code that needs to be shown.Servy– Servy2013-08-14 20:31:26 +00:00Commented Aug 14, 2013 at 20:31
- @Servy I agree that encourage big lots of code is bad, but sometimes seems necessary. In the given question, I gave a minimized example, and only add what people were asking.fotanus– fotanus2013-08-14 20:32:37 +00:00Commented Aug 14, 2013 at 20:32
- 1If it's truly necessary to have a large code snippet, then people shouldn't be hiding it. That people want to hide it is a pretty strong indication that there's too much code there.Servy– Servy2013-08-14 20:34:17 +00:00Commented Aug 14, 2013 at 20:34
- 1@Servy what about allow people with some rep turn a block of code in a mode where others can minimize/maximize? This way, we are not encouraging new users to dump a lot of code, and yet for people that are used with the site create a better view for the question.fotanus– fotanus2013-08-14 20:38:34 +00:00Commented Aug 14, 2013 at 20:38
- People who have been using the site for a while should know better than the rest that you shouldn't be including large code snippets, or in the rare cases where they're needed they wouldn't want them hidden.Servy– Servy2013-08-14 20:41:44 +00:00Commented Aug 14, 2013 at 20:41

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. stack-overflow), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
