Maybe this is a little bit lazy, but for years whenever I've wanted to host an image, I'd upload it via the Stack Exchange uploader and copy/paste the Imgur link to whatever site I was using (Reddit, some forum, etc.), without posting the image to Stack Exchange sites.

I didn't think much of it when Imgur was hosting the images (it seemed equivalent to uploading images to Imgur directly). But I'm now a bit worried that all those images used only at non-Stack Exchange sites will break. Is there anything I can/should do?


Edit: What happens now when I link to images outside of Stack Exchange (using a newly uploaded image):
