Not Always Right is a community-driven platform where readers can share their funny, weird, or memorable real-life experiences. Our mission is to entertain, provide stress relief, and give a voice to everyday stories from workplaces, customer service, and beyond. While we prioritize authenticity, we are humor and storytelling platform first.
How It Started
It all started with one story: a ridiculous customer demanding rollercoasters on their insurance website, and the hapless freelance web designer who couldn’t help but facepalm in response. Since then, we’ve expanded to include anecdotes from all spheres of life. With over 100,000 stories amassed over 18 years, Not Always Right remains a trusted source of amusement and relief for millions worldwide.
Story Sourcing
Our stories come from anonymous reader submissions. We also regularly feature stories from social platforms with permission. While we make every effort to ensure authenticity, anonymity means some details can be difficult to confirm. As such, the stories are meant to reflect individual perspectives and experiences rather than fully verifiable facts. We share them for entertainment, and as a reminder that real life is often times stranger than fiction.
Our Editing
Our aim is to preserve each story’s voice and core content while improving clarity and readability. This can include correcting grammar and spelling, reformatting text, trimming details, or clarifying dialogue, all without altering the original facts or intent. Submissions that aren’t editorialized but meet our guidelines appear in the Unfiltered section in their original, unedited form.
Artificial Intelligence
While we may utilize AI-powered tools for grammar, spelling, or formatting assistance, every story we share comes from people sharing genuine experiences. Our team reviews submissions carefully and continually refines our process as technology evolves. We may also test AI prompts internally to improve our ability to detect AI submissions, but we’ll never use it to create stories for publication. We believe real life gives us more than enough to work with.
