Nov 29, 2011 at 22:58 comment added Bratch @Thanos I thought you mean that the PDF link provided in the question was Too Long, so you Didn't Read it. It's common on the internet for people to comment on articles they have not even read yet, especially long ones. Seems better that it's gone now.
Nov 29, 2011 at 20:46 comment added HLGEM SOme of us old people have no idea what tl;dr means (I did look it up but why would anyone use such cryptic nonsense?)

Nov 29, 2011 at 19:06 comment added Thanos Papathanasiou @Bratch I thought the tl;dr notation was for the user trying to read my answer. Meaning that even if you skip all the rest, if you just read this then you get the gist of the answer. What do you mean with what you are saying?
Nov 29, 2011 at 18:40 comment added Bratch I don't think it's the "tl;dr" notation, but the idea that something was too long and he didn't bother to read the 10 page technical discussion and math formulas needed for the ant algorithm before producing an answer to the question. Reading the paper might not be a requirement for an answer, but not reading it could be the source of down votes.
Nov 29, 2011 at 18:23 comment added Ben Lee Is there anything in the FAQ or help pages anywhere admonishing the use of "tl;dr"? Or is it just some rogue users who don't like it? Seems to me that adding a succinct summary of an answer can only be a good thing, so I can't imagine why this would be considered worth a downvote.
Nov 29, 2011 at 17:04 comment added Independent I understand that the tl;dr notation worth a downvote, to some
Nov 29, 2011 at 13:49 comment added Andres F. +1 for "it would take YOU much less time to do it in a OO style". However, admitting that you are not familiar with a language or paradigm (such as FP) may be hard for some people ;)
