  • FTR: the Ceylon typechecker and JavaScript backend now do support higher handed types (and also higher rank types). It's considered an "experimental" feature. However, our community has struggled to find practical applications for this functionality, so it's an open question whether this will ever be an "official" part of the language. I do expect it to be supported by the Java backend at some stage. Commented Jul 29, 2015 at 21:02
