Aug 3, 2011 at 14:41 comment added David Ruttka @Alex Well said that the measure of productivity is productivity. Should hours per week factor into productivity? Consider the worker who slacks the day away with nothing to show at the close of business, then remotes in from home to commit a mess to source control at 3AM. Compare to the worker who produces twice the output before lunch, spends half a day learning / training while waiting for his next assignment, then enjoys the evening with his family.

Aug 3, 2011 at 13:59 comment added Alex Feinman Let me connect the dots for you. Time not spent on the keyboard (e.g., spent playing the kazoo) can be seen as "not productive". However, the true measure of productivity is...productivity. If playing an instrument makes you more productive, should that factor into hours per week? Or no?
Aug 3, 2011 at 13:57 comment added Saeed Neamati No, it's something totally different @Alex. :). Actually this is a very nice question and the result could be very productive. I'm following it.
