Here are some tools I like to use on my SharePoint VM's

  • VSeWSS 1.3 CTP and hopefully RTW soon
  • SharePoint Content Deployment Wizard 1.1 - Copy lists and sites
  • SharePoint Manager 2007 - View and get information out of your SharePoint site.
  • FireFox 3 with the following plug-ins
    • Firebug
    • Firecookie
    • FireFTP
    • Web Developer
  • CAML.NET IntelliSense - A completed schema refernce for CAML
  • Microsoft SQL Database Publishing Wizard - Used for creating database scripts of a solution package.
  • Microsoft Business Data Catalog Definition Editor - Comes with VSeWSS but you have to go and find it in the VSeWSS install directory.
  • Microsoft Expression Web 3 SuperPreview for Internet Explorer - Compare your web site to IE6 for backward compatability

All of the tools above are FREE of charge and I recommend them allusing VSeWSS 1.3 March 2009 CTP and hopefully RTW soon.
