Hello and welcome to the Spain/Canada community!
So you might be wondering, why Spain/Canada?
Why not?
Spain has all the passion needed to make sure that Canada will never feel forgotten again. Canada has the tolerance needed to put up with Spain's inability to read the atmosphere. They form a good duo who understand each other well and are relaxed in each other's company. Plus, it's cute!
How about history?
Many forget (or don't even know) that the Spanish were the first to document travelling through western Canada - including what is now known as British Colombia. More over, Spain and Britain very nearly came to blows over claims to the west coast of North America after the Spanish seized property in Nootka Sound, an inlet on Vancover island, in 1789. Whilst the Spanish's claims dated back further, Spain's military wasn't that great at the time and Prussia was standing on the side of Great Britain, so they eventually backed down to avoid war... Quite sensible when Prussia's concerned.
Their role in early Canadian history might be generally forgotten, but who is to say that our dear Canada from Hetalia doesn't remember the green eyed nation with a smile bright as the sun from back then?
We hope we've persuaded you! ♥
Plus!
Because Spain's so friendly, he'd like everybody to get to know each other. Thus... a friending meme~
Have fun in the snow!
