Not sure why you received a downvote, since it mentions something which is missing in other answers. The presence of the code contract is a pretty good guarantee, and also gives an excellent answer to the original question. +1 for the idea of looking at the actual implementation.

I'm quite sure that method is not available on iOS, so it's rather pointless.
