    CatServer

    CatServer

A high performance and high compatibility 1.12.2/1.16.5/1.18.2 version

CatServer is an open-source hybrid Minecraft server implementation that combines support for both Forge mods and Bukkit-style plugins within the same server environment. Traditional Minecraft server software typically supports either mod loaders such as Forge or plugin systems like Bukkit and Spigot, but CatServer aims to bridge this gap by enabling both ecosystems to coexist. This hybrid approach allows administrators to run modded gameplay features while also using administrative plugins designed for plugin-based servers. The project modifies the server architecture to integrate Forge modding capabilities alongside plugin compatibility layers. As a result, server operators can build more complex environments that include both gameplay modifications and server management tools. CatServer is particularly useful for communities that want the flexibility of modded Minecraft while retaining access to established plugin-based server administration tools.

    BedrockConnect

    BedrockConnect

Join any Minecraft Bedrock Edition server IP on Xbox One

On Minecraft Bedrock Edition, players on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PS4/PS5 are limited to playing on 'Featured Servers' approved by Mojang/Microsoft. These players are not able to join servers via an IP/address. This is an issue for me and others, as the server community on Java edition was one of the major parts that made Minecraft what it was, and what also made the servers that are now considered 'Mojang Server Partners' what they are today. I wanted to fix this, so I made a solution that anyone can set up easily.

    GeyserMC

A bridge/proxy allowing you to connect to Minecraft

Geyser is an open-source proxy and protocol translation tool that enables cross-platform multiplayer between Minecraft: Java Edition servers and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition clients. The project works by translating network packets between the two different game protocols so that players using Bedrock Edition devices such as consoles, mobile phones, or Windows editions can connect to servers originally designed for Java Edition. By bridging the differences between the two platforms, Geyser allows server communities to unify players who would otherwise be separated by incompatible game editions. The software typically runs as a plugin, proxy, or standalone bridge and integrates with popular Java server platforms such as Spigot, Paper, or Velocity.

    BlueMap

    BlueMap

A Minecraft mapping tool that creates 3D models of your Minecraft

BlueMap is a program that reads your Minecraft world files and generates not only a map, but also 3D models of the whole surface. With the web app you then can look at those in your browser and basically view the world as if you were ingame! Or just look at it from far away to get an overview. BlueMap comes as a Spigot/Paper or Sponge Plugin, as a Fabric or Forge-Mod and you can also use BlueMap without any Server from the Command-Line as a standalone tool. If installed as a Plugin/Mod, BlueMap renders asynchronously to your MinecraftServer-Thread. This means at no time it will block your server thread directly. So as long as your CPU is not fully utilized, your server should not be slowed down while BlueMap is rendering.

    WorldEdit

    WorldEdit

    Minecraft map editor and mod

WorldEdit is a powerful open-source Minecraft map editing toolkit that allows players, builders, and server administrators to quickly modify large areas of a Minecraft world directly from within the game. Instead of placing or removing blocks individually, WorldEdit provides commands and tools that enable users to select regions of the world and apply transformations to thousands or even millions of blocks at once. This capability makes it extremely useful for constructing large builds, terraforming terrain, repairing damage, or managing multiplayer server worlds efficiently. The tool includes a variety of editing methods such as brushes, shape generation commands, and clipboard operations that allow copying, pasting, and rotating entire structures. WorldEdit can run in both single-player environments and multiplayer servers and is compatible with several modding platforms and server frameworks used in Minecraft Java Edition.

    Iris

    Iris

A modern shaders mod for Minecraft compatible with existing OptiFine

Iris was created to fill a void that I saw in the Minecraft customization and graphical enhancement community: the lack of an open-source shaders mod that would let me load my favorite shader packs on modern versions of the game, while retaining performance and compatibility with modpacks. OptiFine, the current dominant mod for loading shader packs, has restrictive licensing that firmly stands in the way of any sort of tinkering, and is fairly notorious for having compatibility issues with the mods that I like. It's also mutually incompatible with Sodium, the best rendering optimization mod in existence by a large margin. ShadersMod was never updated past 1.12, and it lacks support for many of the many modern popular shaderpacks. So I created Iris, to try and solve these issues, and also address many other longstanding issues with shader packs. I first and foremost develop Iris to meet my own needs of a performance-oriented shaders mod with good compatibility.

    Starlight Fabric

    Starlight Fabric

Rewrites the light engine to fix lighting performance

Starlight is a performance optimization project for Minecraft that completely rewrites the game’s internal lighting engine to improve efficiency and reduce lighting-related lag. The original Minecraft lighting system can be computationally expensive when generating terrain or updating large structures, which can cause performance problems on servers and heavily modded environments. Starlight replaces this system with a redesigned algorithm that processes lighting calculations more efficiently and reduces the number of updates required for each chunk. The project aims to improve chunk generation performance, reduce lag spikes, and eliminate certain lighting bugs that occur in the vanilla engine. Because it fundamentally replaces the default lighting system, Starlight can significantly improve performance on servers handling large numbers of block updates or terrain generation tasks.

    Project Malmo

    Project Malmo

A platform for Artificial Intelligence experimentation on Minecraft

How can we develop artificial intelligence that learns to make sense of complex environments? That learns from others, including humans, how to interact with the world? That learns transferable skills throughout its existence, and applies them to solve new, challenging problems? Project Malmo sets out to address these core research challenges, addressing them by integrating (deep) reinforcement learning, cognitive science, and many ideas from artificial intelligence. The Malmo platform is a sophisticated AI experimentation platform built on top of Minecraft, and designed to support fundamental research in artificial intelligence. The Project Malmo platform consists of a mod for the Java version, and code that helps artificial intelligence agents sense and act within the Minecraft environment. The two components can run on Windows, Linux, or Mac OS, and researchers can program their agents in any programming language they’re comfortable with.

    Create

    Create

    Building Tools and Aesthetic Technology

Create is a large Minecraft modification that introduces mechanical engineering systems, automation tools, and kinetic machinery into the game. The mod focuses on building complex contraptions powered by rotational energy rather than relying on traditional redstone circuitry alone. Players can design elaborate machines using components such as shafts, gears, belts, and mechanical devices that interact with each other to automate crafting, farming, and resource processing. Unlike many technology mods that rely heavily on graphical interfaces, Create emphasizes visible mechanical movement and physical machinery that operates directly in the game world. The mod also includes a visual documentation system called “Ponder” that demonstrates how each machine or component works through animated tutorials inside the game.
