Welcome to  spn_contest: a biweekly fanfiction writing contest focusing on The CW's show Supernatural.What we're about: spn_contest is a writing community that issues a prompt every two weeks. At the start of each cycle, participants are given a week to respond to the prompt, at the end of the week, the community members will be able to vote for their favourite fic and the winner will be rewarded with a banner to show off with. Rules: Prompts & Writing: 01. You must be a member in order to participate either in the voting or in the writing. 02. Prompts will be issued in the form of a single word, a phrase, a character, or even a picture. All members will then have one week in order to write their responses. 03. There are two catagores: Drabbles (a true 100 word drabble) or Ficlets/Fics (ranging from 250-1000.) Members can write one drabble and one ficlet per round. 04. When posting please use the following header: You can add to the header, but please keep the basic format. 05. All fic should be posted under a lj-cut, with the exception of a header. 06. Please do not use a fake lj-cut, all fics should be posted to the community. 07. Please do not cross-post drabbles or ficlets until after the winners have been announced for the current round. 08. Please do not vote for yourself during the voting period. What's Allowed/What's Not Allowed: 01. We do not accept either RPF/RPS or Wincest. We don't have anything against it, however we want to ensure that everyone will enjoy reading the fics at this community. Likewise, we do not accept any fic with a rating of NC-17/FRAO. 02. If you are going to use the current episode as a basis for your fic, please ensure that you clearly include this information in the Warnings/Spoilers section of the header. 03. We do accept AU fics, including Winsister fics (unless it's a Winsister Wincest fic.) We also accept original characters. And upon occassion, we will acccept crossovers. 04. Before entering any round, please be sure that you read the entire prompt post as any limitations for that week will be included in the post. Timeline: spn_contest runs on a two week schedule starting on a Friday and ending on a Thursday. Prompt: The prompt will be issued on the Friday at the start of each two week period. Writing: Members will then have from the start of the challenge to 11:59PM PST the following Friday to submit their response. Voting: Voting will begin on the Saturday following the conclusion of the week for writing and community memmbers will have until 11:59PM PST Thursday to vote. Results: Results will be voted on the second Friday, which will coincide with the start of the new challenge.
