@Tolaso: Simpler is relative -- in this solution you have to add the answer boxes manually each time ;-)

Yes, I know that, but for the purpose I want it (in the book that I write) I will have to do it manually anyway. But I upvoted your answer as well. :)

create code fences with backticks ` or tildes ~

like so

put returns between paragraphs
for linebreak add 2 spaces at end

indent code by 4 spaces
backtick escapes `like _so_`
quote by placing > at start of line
to make links (use https whenever possible)
