Aug 2, 2017 at 14:14 comment added Morgan Rogers I prefer this rounded arrow style, it works better with the font. Thanks again for the comprehensiveness of your answer.

Aug 2, 2017 at 13:22 comment added Steven B. Segletes @MorganRogers To your 2nd point, the \SavedStyle works inside the argument of \ThisStyle. It is part of my scalerel package and provides a way to save the current math style (\ThisStyle) and recall it (\SavedStyle) in places where it would otherwise get lost (e.g., inside LaTeX boxes). It provides a more compact invocation than\mathchoice, which is the standard LaTeX way of handling different math styles.
Aug 2, 2017 at 13:19 comment added Steven B. Segletes @MorganRogers To your 1st question: Since the horizontal line in = and \subseteq do not come to a point, aligning the triangle exactly to the end of those strokes would destroy the pointiness of the triangles. To overcome this, one could possibly clip the tip of the triangle or overlay a white block over the end of the line stroke, but this will make the glyph construction much more complicated.
Aug 2, 2017 at 13:15 comment added Morgan Rogers This is very close to what I want (I think I will probably use the first solution since I don't need too many different styles) but I have some questions: 1. Can you make the tip of the arrow align with the subset tips in the forward arrow case? 2. What is the \SavedStyle command in the definition in the second solution?
