  • You can chroot into gentoo from Ubuntu and run it this way. Or perhaps you could run it from LiveDVD or so.. Commented Apr 30, 2014 at 12:19
  • From within a chroot, which grub2-mkconfig couldn't find anything. Either I haven't emerged something I need or I'm wrong about having grub2 on Gentoo. Commented Apr 30, 2014 at 13:37
