Got the same trouble today, the error message was as well permission denied, I've looked up for the same option when i realized i had just no more free space on the disk i mounted.

I know it doesn't happen to everyone, but in case of, that can make gain some time for the people like me that didn't thought about free space at first.

One possible reason for this -- one that I hit -- was that I had no more free space on the disk I mounted.
