  • Your last comment above is correct. Without a config file it apparently just uses a set of defaults. So, if you delete your tmux.conf file or replace it with an empty one, you will be "starting from scratch". FYI, you might be interested in this link. Commented Jan 13, 2017 at 7:19
  • Yup, I've seen that site before. It's just that I was wondering whether it is possible to remove all files with a single command and whether installing a new tmux comes with a new default tmux.conf file. Thanks @airhuff Commented Jan 13, 2017 at 7:33
