Thread: Java Web or Java Desktop application ?

Hi!

I have to migrate an application that manages accounting, administration, finance of an enterprise. That application is in Foxpro. I like to know, if is better to develop a java desktop application or a java web application, and besides that, if java is a good election for programming this type of application.

That is a very, ...very..., general summary of the problem at hand. So the real answer is, who knows?
Generally speaking Java is a good language for handling numbers through user interfaces, desktop or web. Even the possibility of desktop and web from the same code. So unless you have some specifics to add, sure, use Java. Have fun with it

So, I will choose Java . I was thinking to make a java web application because apparently everything now is web oriented.
I decided to use Netbeans and I wondering to know if there is free plugins that facilitate the java graphics like dynamic grids, etc. and what would it be?

Not really a Netbeans user. Nor am I a big fan of installing anything I didn't write. So not much to offer on the specifics.
The reason I spent all our time to reply is to suggest a web search for answers to general questions like this one. I am sure there are tools available, but you will need a more specific idea of exactly what you want a tool to do.
