March 24, 2026: A Crowdfunding Milestone

My first role at Steve Jackson Games was responding to customer-service questions, but I was quickly recruited to help with unloading and fulfillment of the Ogre Designer's Edition. I inhaled my fair bit of cardboard along the way, but that was my first interaction with crowdfunding. A few years later, I was asked to help build the pledge manager for the Dungeon Fantasy RPG boxed set, kicking off what has been a run of just over ONE HUNDRED successful crowdfunded campaigns.

In that time, we've had a lot of backers. So many backers that we quietly crossed a small milestone shortly after fulfilment of the popular Dahlia's Diversions for Peculiar Parties project.

We're happy to share that throughout our crowdfunding history, over 115,000 pledges have been fulfilled!

In all that time, we've seen not only repeat backers that come out to support us (of which there are many!), but . . . [more]

March 23, 2026: A Note From Japan!

I will spend the next week and a half in Japan! We got to Tokyo yesterday on the big silver bird; today is a day of rest. The first part of the trip will be a promo tour, ably assisted by Irene Z, to publicize the Japanese translation of INWO Assassins being released by Asukashinsha Publishing. There will be a trip to the Akihibara, which is featured on one of the new cards . . . oh, have I not mentioned the four new INWO cards? Silly me.

Then, almost a week to see Japan! There will be a bullet train ride to the Fukui Dinosaur Museum and a stay in a themed dinosaur hotel. I can also confidently predict that sushi will be eaten.

I'll try to post a report or two from the road, too!

March 21, 2026: Please Support The Jack Vasel Memorial Fund Auction

BoardGameGeek is hosting their annual fundraising auction benefiting The Jack Vasel Memorial Fund

Jack Vasel, son of Tom Vasel, tragically passed in early 2011. Cate Pfeifer helped to collect funds for their family. Members of the boardgaming community came together in support of the Vasels, and a few months later, Tom launched The Jack Vasel Memorial Fund.

Since then, the non-profit foundation has helped scores of gaming families during their time of need. In 2025, nearly 400 donations made it possible for The Jack Vasel Memorial Fund to award $64,000 to those experiencing hardships.

We donated a special bundle – package 263 – featuring a copy of Munchkin Shadowrun signed by Steve Jackson himself, Munchkin Shadowrun: Hack the Future, Munchkin Cthulhu Guest Artist Edition, and an ultra-rare Munchkin Giant Chibithulhu Plush, which measures at 20" tall.

Bidding is . . .

March 20, 2026: Shiny!

Earlier this year, we brought the long-awaited Munchkin Second Edition to BackerKit, kicking off the 25th anniversary of Munchkin. Second Edition features a host of improvements and additions, but among the most exciting are the new Gold Pieces! Gold deserves to be shiny, and we're thrilled with how the improved Coins turned out. Check it out!
