xrefresh -refresh all or part of an X screen
xrefresh[-option ...]
Xrefreshis a simple X program that causes all or part of your screento be repainted. This is useful when system messages havemessed up your screen. Xrefresh maps a window on topof the desired area of the screen and then immediatelyunmaps it, causing refresh events to be sent to allapplications. By default, a window with no background isused, causing all applications to repaint‘‘smoothly.’’ However, the variousoptions can be used to indicate that a solid background (ofany color) or the root window background should be usedinstead.
−white | Use a white background. Thescreen just appears to flash quickly, and then repaint.
−black | Use a black background (in effect, turning off all ofthe electron guns to the tube). This can be somewhatdisorienting as everything goes black for a moment. |
−solidcolor
Use a solid background of thespecified color. Try green.
−root | Use the root window background.
−none | This is the default. All of the windows simplyrepaint. |
−geometryWxH+X+Y

−displaydisplay
This argument allows you tospecify the server and screen to refresh; seeX(7).
Thexrefresh program uses the routineXGetDefault(3) to read defaults, so its resourcenames are all capitalized.
