ALPFA was established in Los Angeles in 1972 as the American Association of Hispanic Certified Public Accountants (AAHCPA).
From personal experience I can say that PwC has been very supportive in my involvement with
ALPFA. Just recently PwC was the lead sponsor of
ALPFA's national convention and employees from all over the country attended the event.
The AICPA partners with state CPA societies and several professional accounting organizations such as the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and the Association of Latinos in Finance and Accounting (
ALPFA) who are also working to increase the number of CPAs of color in the accounting profession.
