- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2013Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseExcellent book for beginners. This book is a breeze if you are comfortable with basic algebra, but isn't so easy that you don't learn anything. This book is even suitable if you've taken your basic lower division electricity and magnetism physics class because this book focuses more on circuits rather then physics which is why I signed up for the class and got the book. If you aren't comfortable with basic algebra then you might want to try to either pick up Mathematics for Grob's Basic Electronics (which I haven't picked up but has good reviews) or pick up a math book.
My only complaint is that with the more difficult and abstract concepts this book has very few or completely lacks any homework problems on those subjects and instead focuses on conversions. This may leave some people feeling a little lost on concepts such as magnetic flux, induced currents and voltage, hysteresis, and other subjects. All in all, this book will suit your needs if you have no experience with electronics or electricity and magnetism.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2008This book provides a solid foundation for learning electronics. It covers all of the areas associated with learning basic electronics. It is used as a primary reference book at the United States Marine Corps' Communication Electronics School located aboard the Marine Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California. The simulation software offered on the companion CDROM, called Multisim, and was originally known as Electronics Workbench. It provides an interactive environment that allows the electronics student to apply the lessons learned in the text as well as vary the parameters and immediately observe the results. In addition to the CDROM and material provided in the textbook, there is a companion website that provides an online learning center for students and instructors: [...]

- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2014Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseI give this book 5 stars because it said it was in good condition and when i got it the only problem was there were a few page corners folded in and no highlighting that i have found so far. The book store at my local college wanted 180 something for it and i got it for 78 dollars on free two day shipping! I also chose Amazon to buy this book because all the other websites i looked into were kinda sketchy and i had never heard of them but i feel safe buying from amazon and was not disappointed. The book was in great condition and i have no complaints, would definitely recommend this book to a friend.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2011I just finished a couple of Intro to Electronics classes that used this book, and I think it's one of the best textbooks I have ever purchased. The material is clear, well-paced, and backed up with lots of examples and diagrams. There are quizzes, knowledge checkpoints, formula summaries, vocabulary summaries, etc, at the end of each chapter. The problems sets include answers for the odd problems, which I found to be extremely helpful. I can't recommend this book strongly enough.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2010So far I'm ten chapters through the book and it is very straightforward and helpful. It makes learning Electrical Engineering through self study a lot easier. This is also used in the latest engineering classes at my school. Some of the questions need to be clarified for what exactly the author is asking for but I was eventually able to figure things out. It's a very helpful tool for the student engineer.

Book came in good condition.
AsalReviewed in the United Kingdom on October 30, 20135.0 out of 5 stars One of the best texts on the subject.
This book is by far one of the best textbooks introducing the subject. The explanation is very clear and accessible, and the breadth covered is exactly right for the level it's targeted at.
BabuReviewed in India on June 7, 20205.0 out of 5 stars A must have Classic Book in Excellent Condition.
First about the delivery aspects.
The book was delivered to me by Nizam Books @ Amazon.
1. Price offered was beyond excellent. ( 80 % discount) !!!
2. I guessed the book may be in just acceptable condition, but it was an untouched ex- library copy almost looked new.
3. Delivered before 3 days of schedule.
The book doesn't make use of calculus. So may not cater the need of an undergraduate B. Tech or B sc. Course syllabus.
But the book
1. Will perfectly suit a Diploma or Polytechnic course.
2. Bridge a gap between school and undergraduate course.
3. Will motivate strongly towards practical electronics.
4. Will refresh theory of basic electricity and basic electronics those who want without going into deeper physics.
4. Unlike other Indian reprints the book is very aesthetic and eye friendly text formatted.
Bottom line : A must for all engineering students alongwith the regular textbooks.
Pankaj Kumar SainiReviewed in India on June 14, 20205.0 out of 5 stars Best book for basics
If you are just starting to learn about electronics and no idea about it or if you are in doubt about the very basics of electricity..... This is the best book.... Don't think just go for it.
