    It is not directly connected. There’s a schottky diode between the USB 5V pin and the 5V pin. Commented Jun 8, 2019 at 21:41
  • This answer is not completely accurate. At best, it's no longer accurate. I can confirm that the 5V on my V3 board is NOT connected to the supply. When I meter it, I get 1.3V. Commented Dec 29, 2019 at 15:45
