- $\begingroup$ The problem I have here is that cpu usage remains high while playing back the scene. I need a way to disable it, or remove the link between say Texture and Mix node, this also stops the scene from playing the video. is there a way to brake the link via driver? $\endgroup$ToxsickcitY– ToxsickcitY2021-01-06 07:52:33 +00:00Commented Jan 6, 2021 at 7:52
- $\begingroup$ I have 2 Videos in the scene, and I want to interactively select the channel, but having blender playing back 2 videos slows the framerate considerably, these are high bitrate and Resolution. When the texture node is not auto updated, disabled or frame count to 0, blender runs fast again by having one video playing back, I am hoping to make this work with those drivers as changing the channel can essentially disable the other video as well $\endgroup$ToxsickcitY– ToxsickcitY2021-01-06 08:01:35 +00:00Commented Jan 6, 2021 at 8:01
- $\begingroup$ Is it possible to use a Driver to control which OUTPUT MATERIAL is enabled? I have found that having two exact node setups in the Material but with two Material Outputs. selecting one or the other, blender is fast! $\endgroup$ToxsickcitY– ToxsickcitY2021-01-06 08:04:48 +00:00Commented Jan 6, 2021 at 8:04
- $\begingroup$ Makes sense. I think you would have better luck with a very simple addon to expose this property in a panel or anywhere in the UI. Have you ever dabbled in python scripting in Blender ? $\endgroup$Gorgious– Gorgious2021-01-06 08:05:41 +00:00Commented Jan 6, 2021 at 8:05
- $\begingroup$ I know about the scripts, but I am not able to code them, they are way too complex haha, do you know of any plugins which can do the sort of thing I need? $\endgroup$ToxsickcitY– ToxsickcitY2021-01-06 08:18:26 +00:00Commented Jan 6, 2021 at 8:18

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. cycles-render-engine), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
