Reichssicherheitshauptamt


Richsicherheitshauptamt [1](RSHA, njem.:Državni odjel sigurnosti) je predhodnica SD u sklopu nacističke paramilitarne organizacije SS. U početku je ovo odjeljenje zaduženo za unutrašnju špijunažu, koja preuzimanjem Gestapoa pod komandu Himmlera preuzima organizaciju iseljenja Židova sa područja Njemačke. Reinhard Heydrich koji Himmlera slijedi na ljestvici vlasti, dobija komandu nad ovim odjeljenjem. Poslije preuzimanja od strane SS i smrti Heydricha, na čelo dolazi Adolf Eichmann i SD započinje sa deportacijom Židova širom Evrope.
Aktivnosti unutar nacističke Njemačke pod nadzorom RSHA uključivale su prikupljanje obavještajnih podataka, kriminalističke istrage, nadzor stranaca, praćenje javnog mnijenja i nacističku indoktrinaciju. RSHA je također bila "centralni ured za vansudske NS (nacionalsocijalističke) mjere terora i represije od početka rata do 1945. godine".[2] Spisak progonjenih osoba uključivao je Jevreje, komuniste, masone, pacifiste i kršćanske aktiviste.
