    \$\begingroup\$ @HyperNeutrino How is this considered a built-in? Just Nest (repeatedly) the function multiple times. Like any other submissions (Jelly?) The ArrayFlatten is... well, built-in, but it behaves somewhat just like a Flatten[#,{{1,3},{2,4}}] in this case. (didn't test) \$\endgroup\$ Commented Mar 9, 2018 at 10:34
