  • \$\begingroup\$ @sanchises I had actually considered that (and might still post it), but I decided to go with the rectangle in hopes that someone might come up with an explicit formula. I was also considering multiple starting points such that X would be necessary for crossings. Maybe next time. ;) \$\endgroup\$ Commented Apr 7, 2015 at 11:47
